Making Information Accessible, Targeting Communication
- Creating awareness about increasing risks of wildfires because of a sequence of years with drought periods.
- Extensive wildfires sometimes require the evacuation of citizens living in the vicinity of the fire ground.
- Behaviour appropriate to the fire risk is absolutely essential when in the forest, especially during drought.
People living in the vicinity of the burning area had to be evacuated.
Radio communication did not work well.
Good Cross-border (cross-jurisdiction / cross-country) cooperation of fire services, police and public authorities was necessary to meet the challenges related to wide spread wildfire.
