List of Italian Practitioner Networks

Having in mind the different types of large-scale incidents a sub-division of the practitioners networks in those from Police, Fire brigade, Emergency medical services, various types of technical rescue, NGOs involved in disaster management is considered helpful for reaching out to them in the different incidents.

The following table presents Italian networks and associations of practitioners from the field of crisis management.

Fire & Rescue Services

National Fire Corp (C.N.VV.F.) The National Fire Corps (Corpo Nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco - CNVVF) is part of the Department of firefighters, public rescue and civil defense (Dipartimento dei Vigili del Fuoco, del Soccorso Pubblico e della Difesa Civile) is composed by eight central directorates, eighteen regional offices and one hundred provincial commands, with around eight hundred stations throughout the country. The National Fire Corps has the duty to assure the urgent technical rescue. Website
ANVVF Associazione Nazionale dei Vigili del Fuoco (National Association of Firefighters of the National Corps) is a is non-profit and nonpartisan organization that groups firefighters, who have left the service, into one large Association. One of the Association's aims is information, education and training in safety, civil defense and civil protection in favor of citizens, public bodies, private individuals, associations. APVVF Alte Professionalità Vigili del Fuoco (APVVF) is an autonomous association that is independent of political parties and movements, which aims to address all the problems of the career fire officers of the National Fire Fighters Corps, in permanent service, voluntary and retired. The Association is headquartered in Rome. The Association promotes the dissemination of the culture of rescue and technical safety through autonomous initiatives of professional training and technical-scientific dissemination, establishing courses, and training paths that may also confer titles, qualifications or other recognition in compliance with current regulations. CRI L’Associazione della Croce Rossa Italiana (Italian Red Cross Association), as a voluntary organization, aims to provide health and social assistance in both peacetime and times of conflict. A high-profile association, it is placed under the high patronage of the President of the Republic. The ICRC is part of the International Red Cross Movement. In its actions at the international level it coordinates with the International Committee of the Red Cross, in countries in conflict, and with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies for other interventions. ANPAS Federazione Nazionale delle Pubbliche Assistenze (Italian Association for Public assistance), is present in 19 of the nation’s regions, ANPAS currently represents 869 associations, with their 222 Sections. Involved daily in services ranging from emergency medical care and transportation to social programs, healthcare programs, and disaster prevention and relief, ANPAS 90.000 volunteers and 400.000 members make up the largest volunteer association in Italy, an active subject and point of reference for all of those who work towards the goal of a more progressive and caring society. Confederazione Nazionale delle Misericordie d'Italia Medical transportation is the oldest and most widespread of the activities carried out by the Misericordie, which is a voluntary association whose purpose is the constant affirmation of charity and Christian brotherhood through the witness of spiritual and corporal works of mercy, in relief of individuals and communities by contributing to the formation of consciences according to the teaching of the Gospel and the Roman Apostolic Church.
