DMI | DMI (Danmarks Meteorologiske Institut) serve society with meteorological knowledge and data within the Kingdom of Denmark, the Faroe Islands and Greenland with surrounding waters and airspace. The tasks cover weather, climate and sea. They range from issuing weather forecasts and hazard warnings to producing ice information for Greenland and developing future climate scenarios for climate adaptation in Denmark.
DMI has a research and development department with more than 70 researchers and PhD students. DMI's research is application-oriented. For example, we develop models that can predict weather, climate or the dispersion of substances in the air or sea. We test and check how measurements from satellites can best be translated into useful knowledge. We study and map the climate of the future so that today's Denmark can invest wisely in infrastructure that will last. |
